New Data Protection Regulations from May 2018 (GDPR)
Under the new data protection regulations introduced from 25th May 2018, we will continue to contact patients via text messages regarding the delivery of care if they have provided consent to do so.
If practices are sending messages about recommended treatment for the management of a specific health issue, then this is defined as providing appropriate care for patients, not marketing purposes.
Park View Group Practice are happy to welcome a new Well-being Navigator.
Imelda will offer well-being support for NON-Medical problems.
She will be at the practice 3 times per week and can meet with patients struggling with:
* feeling low, stressed, isolated, unmotivated
* financial difficulties, benefits problems and housing issues
* family worries, caring responsibilities and bereavement
* managing at home and increasing independence
* getting back into employment
* social activities and volunteering
* transport issues

From December 2016 we aim to have 90% of our GP appointments available to book online. To take advantage of this facility you will need to be registered for Patient Access. Please call into the surgery with photographic I.D and request an application form.
CQC are the independent regulator of health and adult social care in England.
They make sure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and we encourage care services to improve.
We recently had a visit from CQC who reviewed us in 5 key areas. SAFE, EFFECTIVE CARING RESPONSIVE AND WELL-LED
We are very pleased with the outcome of the report.

Named Allocated General Practitioner
We currently have 8817 patients registered at the practice. Each individual patient has a Named Accountable GP assigned to them.
What does ‘accountable’ mean?
The named accountable GP takes responsibility for the co-ordination of all appropriate services required under the contract and ensure they are delivered to each of their patients where required (based on the clinical judgement of the named accountable GP).
The contract remains ‘practice based’, so overall responsibility for patient care has not changed. This is largely a role of oversight, with the requirements being introduced to reassure patients that they have one GP within the practice who is responsible for ensuring that this work is carried out on their behalf.
Does the requirement mean 24-hour responsibility for patients?
No. The named GP will not:
- take on vicarious responsibility for the work of other doctors or health professionals
- take on 24-hour responsibility for the patient, or have to change their working hours. The requirement does not imply personal availability for GPs throughout the working week
- be the only GP or clinician who will provide care to that patient
Do patients have to see the named GP when they book an appointment with the practice?
No. Patients can and should feel free to choose to see any GP or nurse in the practice in line with current arrangements. However, some practices may see this change as a way to encourage and promote a greater degree of continuity of care for patients.
